We want to create the best dental experience possible, and Dr. Kearns and Dr. Jocelyn strive to ensure that children leave each visit smiling, no matter how fearful they are when entering our Tinton Falls office. We understand that each child is unique and may require a different approach to achieve a positive dental experience. Our goal at Sycamore Smiles Pediatric Dentistry is to create an environment that fosters confidence and builds good dental habits in young children that lasts into adulthood.
Dr. Kearns grew up in Milltown, New Jersey, and knew from an early age that she wanted to be a doctor. It wasn't until she participated in a Gateway to Dentistry program, near the end of her studies at La Salle University, that she realized she wanted to be a dentist. After graduating in 2009, she attended dental school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), where she was inducted into the national dental honors society.
She went on to her residency at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in 2013, where she continued gaining the experience and knowledge she would need to eventually open her own practice. At St. Christopher's she was nominated to the position of Chief Pediatric Dental Resident, in charge of managing 14 residents and their schedules. Dr. Kearns is passionate about working with children to build their confidence and finds joy in seeing those children progress and become more assured in their dental health over time. She plays an active role in ensuring that Sycamore Smiles Pediatric Dentistry will always function in the best interest of the child, and never for profit.
When she isn't in the office, Dr. Kearns and her husband are actively involved with their 4 children. She’s a Peloton-loving wrestling mom who stays active, is an avid reader, and loves spending as much time as possible at the beach with her family.
Dr. Jocelyn grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania and always had a curiosity for medicine. As a young lady, she volunteered as a candy striper at the West Chester Medical Center and found a passion for working in hospitals. Dr. Jocelyn has an innate knack for helping patients, especially kids. As a teenager she even formed a babysitting club with some neighbors!
Dr. Jocelyn knew that pediatric dentistry was her calling thanks to her fond experiences with her own childhood dentist, Dr. Donald Schubert. After she finished a study abroad program (New South Wales) and her undergraduate degree at Pennsylvania State University, she attended dental school at The New York University College of Dentistry. She graduated with honors and has been awarded for her dental skills and chairside rapport with patients in many instances. It was in New York she met her husband, Robert Bruno, a nephrologist who practices in the area as well. Dr Jocelyn received her pediatric specialty training at Jacobi Medical Center where she served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Jocelyn has continued to expand her knowledge and dental skills, keeping up-to-date with the dynamic changes in dentistry and teaching residents at local hospitals. She has privileges at Jersey Shore Medical Center and at Monmouth Medical Center where she is the Section Chief for Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Jocelyn is active in organized dentistry and is involved with the Monmouth Ocean County Dental Society where she is a past president and currently serves as a trustee and committee chair for the Children's Dental Health month. She is involved with the NJDA on the CE committee and serves as M-OCDS Alternate Trustee. She has worked in many offices, cultivating a keen sense for what makes a great culture and patient experience, and brings all of that here to Sycamore Smiles Pediatric Dentistry.
Outside of the office, Dr. Jocelyn enjoys getting more acquainted with the local community and making memories with her family. Dr. Jocelyn loves spending time together with her family swimming at beaches or pools during summers; bike riding, walks with their dog Lecce, and skiing throughout the winter months. When they are in season, she is also involved in coaching her twin daughters’ cheerleading teams, and has coached their rec softball team.
Dr. Mina grew up in New Brunswick and attended Rutgers University on a pre-dental track, keen to help his community through dentistry. He then went on to attend dental school at the New York University College of Dentistry (NYU).
After dental school, Dr. Mina completed a general practice residency at Monmouth Medical Center, where he was taught by our own Dr. Jocelyn! Here he continued gaining the experience and knowledge he would need to treat patients of all ages, but along the way found his true calling in pursuit of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Mina went on to a second residency, sharpening his skills and expanding his education, receiving his pediatric dental specialty training at Tufts University Medical Center in Boston.
Dr. Mina is passionate about working with children in a fun, safe, and welcoming environment where he can tailor treatment to a child’s individual needs. He finds joy in seeing children gain confidence in the dental office and become comfortable sharing any concerns that may arise. What he loves most about Pediatric Dentistry is finding a common ground between himself and his patients so that he can make the dental experience pleasant and memorable for the child, while always keeping the child’s best interests in mind.
When he is not in the office, Dr. Mina spends his free time running and working out. He also enjoys playing video games, hiking, watching sports and traveling. Dr. Mina looks forward to meeting you and your family at Sycamore Smiles in July!

At Sycamore Smiles Pediatric Dentistry, it’s important to us that we engage and get to know our community so that we can create the best possible office culture and patient experience. That's why Dr. Jocelyn has participated in Monmouth-Ocean County Dental Society's "Children's Dental Health Month'' program since 2010 and is the current chair for Monmouth County. The program promotes education on oral health habits to children through a creative annual poster contest and other fun activities. Since 2018, Dr. Jocelyn is a proud member of Impact 100 Jersey Coast. Impact 100 Jersey Coast is a collective of women who fund transformational grants for high impact community projects, effectively encouraging the participation, ideas, and perspective of women from a diverse range of identities.
In addition, Dr. Kearns and her family have dedicated themselves to the veteran community. Since 2017, at Thanksgiving and Christmas, the Kearns family has provided holiday meals to Monmouth County veteran families in need. Throughout the pandemic, the Kearns family has also written cards and drawn pictures to send to veteran nursing homes to help lift residents spirits. Sycamore Smiles Pediatric Dentistry in Tinton Falls is privileged to be in network with dental insurances that cater to the families of active duty servicemen and women, as well as disabled and retired veterans.
